A beautiful life
Park at Rydal Hall where there is also a tea room. Follow the coffin route that traverses the hillside towards Grasmere. This trail was used to carry coffins to the churchyard at Rydal and reminds us that life is fleeting.
Take the short diversion to the summit of White Moss Common for the view over Grasmere, then return to the track and descend towards the White Moss car park by Rydal Water.
Cross the road and the outlet of Rydal Water and go up through the woods, following the path along the far side of Rydal water and back along the road to Rydal Hall.
"God has made everything beautiful in its time and set eternity in the human heart..."
Look for all the beautiful things you can see, and as you walk, consider what makes a ‘beautiful’ life.
