A thank offering
#seebeyondtheview
Park at Park Brow car park at Aira Force and follow the footpath past the famous waterfall of Aira Force. Take the Ullswater Way footpath as it rises up to the memorial seat, on which is inscribed ‘A thank-offering -1905’. This is a magnificent viewpoint overlooking the fjord-like Ullswater and a place to sit and wonder at the spectacular landscape, thinking of what and who you are thankful for.
A circular walk can be followed by taking the Ullswater Way for a little way and then heading left on a path that leads to the summit of Gowbarrow Fell and then toward Dockray and back to Aira Force and the car park.
Find something that will flutter to the ground such as a leaf, seedpod, or feather and throw it into the air or drop it.
As it flutters down, spend a few moments thinking about what you are thankful for and who are you thankful to.
